Inclusion Criteria
1) Pregnant women above the age of 21 years
2) Singleton term pregnancies ( >37 weeks of gestational age)
3) Live fetus- vertex presentation
Exclusion Criteria
1) Traumatic PPH
2) Placenta previa
3) Abruptio placenta
4) Severe pre-eclampsia
5) Severe anemia
6) Gestational thrombocytopenia, TTP, ITP
7) Sensitivity to oxytocin or carbetocin
8) Serious cardiovascular disorders, hepatic, renal disorders, epilepsy
9) Multiple pregnancies
10) Chorioamnionitis
11) Polyhydraminos
12) Macrosomia
13) History of previous postpartum hemorrhage
