Primary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
To compare the overall incidence of pain as well as the occurrence of various grades of

pain after propofol injection, following the application of ice gel pack causing local

cooling and pretreatment with lignocaine intravenouslyTimepoint: At the time of injection of propofol
Secondary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
To assess the incidence of discomfort to the patients on application of ice gel packTimepoint: In the 2 min duration that the ice gel pack is applied on the patients hand;To compare the dose of propofol needed for induction between the lignocaine pretreatment

group and ice gel pack therapy groupTimepoint: Not applicable; To compare the hemodynamic changes including blood pressure and heart rate, at the time

of induction, between the two groupsTimepoint: Before and after induction of Anaesthesia
