• chronic idiopathic constipation

Exclusion Criteria

• medications that slow gastrointestinal (GI) motility
• prior surgery to the GI tract

Arm && Interventions

Group	Intervention	Description
Treatment	lubiprostone	24 micrograms of lubiprostone twice daily for one week.

Primary Outcome Measures
