18 years or older
- loss of a loved one due to suicide
- time since loss at least 14 months
- meeting the criteria for prolonged grief disorder
- access to the Internet
- severe depressive disorder (BDI-II > 28): this criterion was later removed
- increased value in suicide scale, value >3 (Yale evaluation of Suicide scale): this criterion was later removed
- history of dissociative or psychotic symptoms (Brief Symptom Inventory, Derogatis, 1993)
- severe dependence or substance abuse disorder (questions about consuming alcohol or drugs)
- ongoing psychotherapy
- unstable psychopharmacological treatment in the last 6 weeks

Name Time Method Grief intensity was measured with the German version of the Inventory of Complicated Grief (ICG-D, Lumbeck, Brandstätter, & Geissner, 2012) and the Grief Experience Questionnaire (GEQ, Barret & Scott, 1989).
