Patients aged more than 18 years with squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity who underwent surgical resection and immediate reconstruction with a submental island flap or a radial forearm free flap between October 2008 and December 2021.
Patients with recurrent oral cavity cancer or distant metastasis, those who required a segmental mandibulectomy, or patients who had undergone previous neck surgery or radiotherapy, or had a history of cancer elsewhere in the body.
