简要总结

Purpose : Efficacy of Mazoogh(Masticatory drugs) Versus Speech Language Therapy in Taghayyur I Kalam (Aphasia) in post stroke

Design : Open-labelled, Parallel groups, Randomised Controlled Clinical study

Intervention :The test group will be given 5 grams of coarse powder of Mazoogh to chew twice a day after meals for 30 days. The control group will be treated with Speech-Language Therapy for 30 minutes daily for 30 days

Main outcome measure :

Primary outcome : Western Aphasia Battery-Revised Aphasia Quotient

入选标准

  • 1.Subjects from 18 to 70 years of age 2.All genders 3.Clinically and radiologically diagnosed cases of aphasia 4.A score less than 93.8 on the Aphasia Quotient of the Western Aphasia Battery-Revised Aphasia Quotient.

排除标准

  • Subjects less than 18 or more than 70 years of age
  • Neurological condition other than stroke
  • A previous history of mental illness and dementia
  • A concurrent progressive Neurological disorder
  • Uncontrolled comorbidities such as Hypertension, DM, Hepatic and Renal diseases
  • Clinical depression at the time of admission
  • Unwillingness or inability to comply with the requirements of the protocol.
