1.Participants using any form of tobacco until the day of recruitment,
2.were aged between 19 and 55 years,
3.were ready to reduce or quit tobacco use, ready to use nicotine replacement therapy as prescribed by the investigator,
4.were able to understand English and Tamil language and were able to provide consent and have access to a mobile phone, included in the study.
1.Smokers with nasal septal deviation, sinusitis, upper respiratory tract infections
2.unstable angina, severe cardiac arrhythmia, recent acute myocardial infarction or cerebrovascular accident in preceding 3â??months
below 18â??years old, being, unable to use gum,
3.With a previous history of failure to NRT were excluded from the study.
