Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • All children presenting with status epilepticus with duration \> 5 minutes.
  • Failure of first and second line antiepileptics
  • age group 2 to 14 years

Exclusion Criteria

  • All children with diagnosed muscular dystrophies on clinical examination.
  • severe hypotension(according to age )
  • severe atrial or ventricular block(on ecg)
  • metabolic diseases (hypoglycemia, hypocalcemia, hypomagnesemia, hyponatremia, hypenatremia, uremicencephalophaty, hepaticencephlopathy).
  • History of use of anticonvulsants before presenting to hospital.
  • Renal or Hepatic diseases on medical records and relevant investigations.
