Inclusion Criteria

Men and women aged over 60 years with diagnosis of knee OA .; Signs of OA in at least one of the knee joint compartments (tibiofemoral and / or patellofemoral joint) (Brenner et al., 2003 HortobGyi et al., 2004); classification of ostearthritis by the American College of Rheumatology (ACR), and minimum 4 cm prior presentation in VAS; Physiotherapeutic treatment in the 3 months prior to the research project; Infiltration with corticosteroid in the knee (6 months previous); the absence of a medical restriction that makes them unable to participate in the proposed evaluations (cardiorespiratory, neurological and / or musculoskeletal changes) and previous knee or hip surgeries

Exclusion Criteria

Obtain a score of less than 18 points in the Mini- mental status examination in the case of illiterate elders and less than 24 for the school-aged elderly (Lourenço ; Veras, 2006); To obtain scores higher than 10 on the EDG-30 geriatric depression scale (Almeida and Almeida, 1999; Stoppe Júnior et al., 1994)

umerical Verbal Scale (EVN)<br>It will be applied to the pain register on the 1st and the last day of the data collection. EVA is a well-recognized instrument to measure the intensity of chronic pain that verbally represents the intensity of pain that the individual believes to present (Bijur et al., 2001). Pain will be requested at the time of evaluation between 0 and 10, 10 being a disabling pain and 0 the total absence of pain.<br><br>After the end of treatment, a change of at least 30% in the EVN value will be considered significant.
