简要总结

The prevalence of Metabolic Syndrome in thisstudy population was high compared to the estimated prevalence in the generalIndian population. However, there was no significant correlation between CKDand the various parameters of MetS. A significant association was found betweenincreasing age and BMI with Metabolic Syndrome and between cardiovascularevents and MetS with CKD. In view of the high incidence in the Indianpopulation screening and counselling on a large scale would be beneficial andmore studies are required bridge the gaps in the knowledge of MetS and chronickidney disease.
