Brief Summary

The preoperative diagnoses were incarcerated meniscal tear for 12 patients (80%) and the usual tear of the medial meniscus for 3 patients (20%). Eleven patients (73%) began to present with aggravated severe knee pain within one month before visiting our center. The preoperative mean VAS score of the 15 patients was 7.26. Twelve patients (80%) showed maximum tender point just below the joint line and on the proximal end of the tibial bone. On arthroscopic evaluation, the surface of the medial meniscus appeared healthy initially in 12 patients (80%) and appeared as an incomplete tear in 3 patients (20%). We could find and remove incarcerated fragment in all cases under the suspicion of the lesion in the inferior recess of the medial meniscus.
