Volunteers who meet the following conditions will be eligible for the study: Adults aged 18-59 years; Diagnosed with Acute Respiratory Insufficiency; Inpatient ICU time greater than 7 days; Undergoing mechanical invasive ventilation for more than 48 hours; With the interval from 1 to 30 days after hospital discharge; Clinical stability; (SpO2 greater than 92% in Ambient Air, with Fr less than 35 ipm)
Volunteers who meet the following conditions will be ineligible to participate in the study:
Logistic difficulties of transportation for a physical rehabilitation program;
Life expectancy less than 6 months;
Neurological diseases: Vascular Accident Ischemic and hemorrhagic encephalic, traumatic brain injury. Neurosurgery; Cause of Acute Respiratory Insufficiency associated with exacerbation of chronic cardiac and / or pulmonary pathologies;
Functional sequelae limiting ICU hospitalization;
History of dementia or cognitive deficit, ex. Parkinson, Alzheimer;
Cognitive change acquired in the internal limitation to the evaluation procedures and rehabilitation protocol;
Pregnancy.
