- Brief Summary
The study is aimed to compare the effectiveness of class IV LASER therapy and phonophoresis in patients with Mechanical Low Back pain on decreasing pain, disability and enhancing quality of life.
Outcome measures used are Numeric pain rating scale(NPRS), Modified oswestry disability questionnaire (MODQ), Modified Modified Schobers test and SF-36 quality of life scale.
Ethical approval of this study is taken from the Communication of decision of the Ethics Committe (IEC) of Maharishi Markandeshwar Institute of Medical sciences and research Mullana-Ambala.
Subjects will be recruited from the Orthopaedic physiotherapy OPD of Maharishi Markandeshwar Institute of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.
Patients will be allocated into three groups. Group A will receives Class IV LASER Therapy with Conventional Physiotherapy. Group B will receives Phonophoresis with Conventional Physiotherapy and Group C will receives Conventional Physiotherapy. Intervention will be given for 3 days a week for 2 weeks
Assessment will be done pre intervention and post Intervention.

- Individuals with low back pain from last 3 months.
- Willing to participate.
- Pain intensity on Numeric pain rating scale (NPRS) should be more than 3 (NPRS ≥ 3).
- Individulas who have taking any pharmacological treatment.
- A positive neurological examination( motor or sensory abnormalities indicating spinal root compression) Individuals with Spinal surgery or previous fractures of spine.
- Lumbar canal stenosis, congenital malformation, spondylolisthesis, infection or known photosensitivity.
- Radicular pain.
