- •Care homes residents need to be:
- •1. Aged 60 and over
- •2. Have lived at the care home for at least two months on a permanent basis
- •3. Fulfill the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Fourth Edition (DSM-IV) criteria for dementia
- •4. Score less than 24 on the Mini Mental Status Examination (MMSE)
- •5. Able to consent/assent to participate in the trial

- •Residents with primarily a mental health diagnosis or learning disability.
