Inclusion Criteria

1.Patients attending the medicine department of KMC hospital with type 2 diabetes mellitus

2.Those with minimal or no comorbidities

3.Normal liver and kidney function

4.Those between the age group of 25-65 years

5.Those patients residing within a radius of 10km in and around Udupi town (Manipal, Udyavara, Parkala, etc.)

Exclusion Criteria

1.Diabetic patients with multiple comorbidities such as IHD,CVA and those with high potassium level

2.Diabetic patients on insulin therapy.

3.Who are on any weight loss plan, or taking any lipid profile improving drugs for the past 6 months.

4.Any patients having allergies/contraindications to any ingredients used in the preparation of unripe banana flour snack

5.Those terminally ill and immunocompromised patients

6.Pregnant and lactating mothers
