adult patients (males and females), preoperative written consent for oberservational study and analysis of blood samples, surgery after fracture of upper/ lower extremeties or spine, ability to fully understand nature and puposte of study, ability to meet the study requirements
< 18 years, insufficient knowledge of German language

Name Time Method incidence of CPSP in dependence of type of fracture and type of surgery; incidence of CPSP in dependence of anaesthetic procedures (general anaesthesia or peripheral nerve block or combination of both); assessment of acute posteroperative pain on numerical rating scale (NRS); postoperative presence of PPSB and components of neuropathic pain after 3 and 12 months; influence of pain on daily life activities and quality of life 3 and 12 months later; courses of immunological parameters over 3 and 12 months and their correlation with the presence of neuropathic pain
