Inclusion Criteria

100 Newborn term with 1-3 days of life; both genders; with clinical stability; With informed consent and informed consent signed by the person responsible.

Exclusion Criteria

Neonates requiring ventilatory support with infectious processes; open wounds or unhealed; temperature changes; neurological problems; heart failure and seizures.

Variation of heart rate: The variable heart rate was measured with the portable monitor Risingmed brand - RMS-500L, before, during and after the two types of bath;Change behavior: The behavioral state was assessed before, during and after the two types of bath, the scale Neonatal Facial Coding System Scale (NFCS) eclassificado at: State 1, Deep sleep without movements, regular breathing; State 2, light sleep, eyes closed, some body movement; State 3, Sleepy, eyes opening and closing; State 4, Awake, eyes open, minimum body movements; State 5, Fully awake, vigorous body movements and State 6, crying.;Variation of respiratory rate: respiratory rate (RR) was evaluated by the sum of the thoracic movements during a minute before, during and after the two types of bath;Temperature range: for the evaluation of temperature using a digital thermometer was G-Tech mark, positioned on the left axilla before, during and after the two types of bath.
