Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Obstetric patients pre\-delivery or upto 6 weeks post\-delivery, admitted to ICU for any cause related directly or indirectly to pregnancy with an anticipated stay of greater than 48 hours. The common indications include puerperal sepsis, hemorrhage, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, disseminated intravascular coagulation, anemia etc. In case of multiple admissions for the same patient, only the initial one will be considered in order to avoid bias. In case the patient is re\-admitted within 24 hours after initial discharge, readmission will be considered as part of initial index admission.
Exclusion Criteria
- •Those not requiring insertion of a Foleyâ??s catheter, or with prior history of renal dysfunction or requirement of renal replacement therapy, or with renal transplant will be excluded from the study. Failure to obtain a valid consent will also be taken as an exclusion criterion.
