1.Age = 65 years
2.Isolated Hip fracture patients
3.ASA physical status 1 and 2
4.Elective and emergency surgery under spinal anaesthesia
1.BMI > 30
2.Cardiac rhythm other than sinus
3.Uncontrolled hypertension,
4.Cardiac disease including cardiomyopathy and mild to severe valve disease, pulmonary hypertension,
5.Peripheral arterial disease or atherosclerosis
6.Preoperative cervical vascular ultrasound abnormalities including plaque, stenosis and anatomic variation
7.Any preexisting conditions which preclude neck ultrasonography
8.Contraindications to spinal anaesthesia (bleeding tendency, allergy to local anaesthetics, sepsis, infection of the needle insertion site)
9.Head injury
10.Patients having baseline MAP < 65 mm hg
11.Inability to understand the study information sheet; and refusal
