The current study will be carried out by the department of physiology in association with department of Biochemistry and department of Neonatology , MAMC and associated LN hospital New Delhi
Study will be conducted in the Intramural unit of neonatology department
The study intends to understand the physiology of the thyroid functions in preterm sick neonates by assessing the serum levels of TSH, FT3, FT4 and RT3.

入选标准
- •Preterm infants (28-36 weeks of gestation ) with any morbidity that requires admission and support beyond feeding and observation in warmer.
排除标准
- •infants of mothers with thyroid disease or drugs affecting thyroid levels.
- •visible anomalous/ major congenital malformation at birth.
- •Infants on medications reported to effect thyroid hormone levels.
- •multiple gestations.
结局指标
主要结局
Mean serum level of TSH, FT4, FT3.
时间窗: 0-24hrs and 3-7 days of birth
次要结局
- 1) comparison of serum TSH , FT3, FT4 at different time points.(2) comparison of serum TSH , FT3, FT4 at different gestations)
