Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • patients of suspected upper gastrointestinal bleeding
  • patients of normal state of consciousness and stable V/S

Exclusion Criteria

  • stricture of GI tract and nose
  • reject of NG tube and EG scan insertion
  • emergency endoscopy can not be performed as the general condition of the unstable state
  • angiography and embolization is more appropriate
  • emergency surgery is appropriate
  • pregnancy status
  • correct diagnosis is made at another hospital
  • uncontrolled hypertension
  • uncontrolled cardiac arrhythmias
