Inclusion Criteria
1.All patients above the age of 18 years being admitted under department of orthopaedics, GMC Patiala for operative procedures.
2. All operative procedures being carried out in the department of orthopaedics, GMC Patiala.
Exclusion Criteria
1.Patients allergic to vancomycin.
2.Patients undergoing minimally invasive procedures.

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method To assess the efficacy of local vancomycin powder in controlling postoperative infection in orthopaedic surgeries.Timepoint: Post op assessment based on : <br/ ><br>Pre and post operative hemoglobin, TLC , DLC, ESR, CRP(quantitative),estimated blood loss, RBS <br/ ><br>Wound cultures to be collected, if indicated. <br/ ><br>Wound assessment on Post operative days 5, 8, 12. <br/ ><br>Final wound assessment on day 30. Follow up till 12 weeks.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method To bring about a change in the treatment modality in order to reduce surgical site infections. <br/ ><br>To assess the incidence of SSI in both the groups. <br/ ><br>To assess the duration of various surgeries, patient demographics, comorbidities, estimated blood loss, complete blood count. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: Post op assessment based on : <br/ ><br>Pre and post operative hemoglobin, TLC , DLC, ESR, CRP(quantitative),estimated blood loss, RBS <br/ ><br>Wound cultures to be collected, if indicated. <br/ ><br>Wound assessment on Post operative days 5, 8, 12. <br/ ><br>Final wound assessment on day 30.
