Brief Summary

Being overweight is common problem of todays era. It is also associated most of the times with lipid level changes due to unhealthy habits such as  sedentary life style, eating junk food, lack of exercise, stress. People are generally considerd obese when BMI is above 25 kg/m2 and Hyperlipidemia is when Serum Cholesterol level is more than 200mg/dl and Serum Triglyceride level is more than 150 mg/dl. According to WHO overweight and obese are among leading causes of death globally. According to Ayurveda Sthaulya is mainly due to Meda and Kapha dushti. Therefore Kaphaghna ,Deepana, Lekahana, and Ushana, katu ingredients are used in treatment in Sthaulya. Due to all this properties management of Sthaulya may be possible and it may also help in growth of saar medadhatu and redused hyperlipidemia and leads to healthy individuals. The main objective of this research work is to provide consolidated report on uses of properties of Vidangadi Yog and Tab. Rosuvastatin in the management of Hyperlipidemia in Sthaulya.

Inclusion Criteria
  • 1.Patient suffering from symptoms of Sthaulya.
  • 2.Patients who are having two or more following symptoms will be included for study 1.SHWASADHIKYA ,2.ATI KSHUDHA, 3.AAYAS AKSHAMTA,4.ATI TRUSHAN,5.BALAHINATA,6.NIDRADHIKYA 3.Age group 25 to 60 yrs irrespective of genders.
  • 4.B.M.I 25 to 39.9 Kg/M2.
  • Patients having Sr. Cholesterol level more than normal (above 200m/dl)or Patients having Sr. Triglyceride level more than normal (above 150 mg/dl)or both.
Exclusion Criteria
  • 1.Known case of Renal impairment , IHD, TB, AIDS, CA, Cerebral disease and Hepatitis.
  • Positive and suspected Covid 19 cases.
  • 3.Known cases of uncontrolled diabetes mellitus (Hba1c above 9%).
  • 4.Pregnant and lactating women.
