Treatment in one of the surgical intensive care units during the study period (01.01.2013 - 29.02.2024).
Presence of psychiatric illness prior to ICU treatment. Psychiatric disorders are defined as those listed in Chapter V Mental and Behavioral Disorders (F00-F99).
Psychiatric disorder acquired during intensive care treatment (postoperative delirium, treatment-related stress disorder).
Diagnosis: F17.2 - Mental and Behavioral Disorder Caused by Tobacco (Tobacco dependence as the sole diagnosis is not considered a separate psychiatric disorder).
