This multicentre randomised controlled trial could not demonstrate that PoCUS guided reduction of distal radial fractures was associated with a lower number of reduction attempts or a lower proportion of patients with an indication for operative repair.

Inclusion Criteria

Patiënten (=16 jaar) die zich op de SEH presenteren met een distale radiusfractuur (inclusief intra-articulaire fracturen of radiusfracturen in combinatie met een distale ulna fractuur) waarvoor repositie geïndiceerd is. |

Exclusion Criteria
  • - Leeftijd <16 jaar

  • - Open fracturen

  • - Klinisch vastgestelde nieuwe neurovasculaire schade

  • - Operatie indicatie gesteld op basis van de eerste röntgenfoto

  • - Osteosynthese materiaal in situ bij aangedane pols

  • - Letsel waardoor applicatie van echo gel niet mogelijk is
