Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Declaration of consent by the patient or the legal guardian
- •Patients who are analgosedated and mechanically ventilated
- •Presence of a central venous line and an arterial line
- •Hemodynamic stability (mean arterial pressure \= 65 mmHg, cardiac output \= 4\.5 liters/minute/m² body surface area)
- •Clinical indication to performf a computed tomography of the chest
Exclusion Criteria
- •Age \= 18 years
- •Congenital cardiac malformation, severe valve dysfunction or severe arrhythmia
- •Life expectancy less than 24 hours
- •Previous operations on the organs under investigation
