Inclusion Criteria
Major visceral surgery must have been performed on the patient during the hospital stay concerned.
This includes:
o Esophagectomy
o gastrectomy
o Pancreatic resection
o Major liver resection
o Colon resection
o Rectal resection
• Age> 18 years
• The operations must have been carried out between 1.1.2017 and 30.9.2020.
• The operations must have been carried out electively.
Exclusion Criteria
Age under 18, or an operation that was not elective or does not count among the operations we include.

Name Time Method • Total (pre- and postoperative) length of stay in hospital during the primary stay<br>• Total frequency of postoperative complications and the individual degrees of severity (I-V) according to the Clavien-Dindo classification<br>• Frequency of complication-related readmissions within 30 days of primary discharge<br>• Length of stay on an intensive and intermediate care ward during the primary stay<br>• Cumulative postoperative and total hospital stay during the primary stay as well as a further hospital stay resulting from a complication-related readmission<br>• Goal of discharge (home, follow-up treatment / rehabilitation, care facility, other hospital, leaving the hospital against medical advice)
