- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Eleven healthy volunteers (5 women and 6 men; age range, 25-61 years) were enrolled in this open pilot trial. The participants were given BOT (7.5 g/day) for 2 weeks, after which they were given a test meal and 200 ml of cold water containing 100 mg of [1-13C]-glucose. Breath samples were collected every 10 min for 180 min.13C activity in breath samples was measured and glucose oxidation rate was calculated.
