Inclusion Criteria

1.Confirmed diagnosis of gout meeting ACR CRITERIA.

2.Assymetric swelling within a joint.

3.First metatarsophalangeal joint tender or swollen.

4.Hyperuricemia.

5.Maximal inflammation developed within one day

6. Monoarthritis attack

7. More than one acute arthritis attack

8.Redness over joint

9. Subcortical cysts without erosion on x-ray

10. Suspected tophi

11.Synovial fluid culture negavtive for organism during aute attack.

12.Unilateral first metatarsophalangeal joint attack.

13.Unilateral tarsal joint attack.

Exclusion Criteria

1. Clinical conditions involving joints e.g.Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Rheumatic arthritis

2. Patients having any systemic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular or cerebrovascular diseases, Hepatic and renal disease, Osteomalacia, Osteoporosis

3. Patients with recent h/o Dengue, chikungunya and viral fever

4.Grade-2 obesity(BMI >35)

5.Patients on long term medications.

6. Patients taking drugs which increased serum uric acid levels(Thiazide Diuretics etc) and decreased serum calcium levels (furosemide,etc)

7.Pregnant and lactating women.
