Coronary artery or valve transplant surgery

Exclusion Criteria

tracheal or oesophageal stricture
tracheo-oesophageal fistula
history of oesophageal surgery
oesophageal varix
oesophageal trauma
oesophageal diverticulum
Barrett’s oesophagus
hiatus hernia
large descending aortic aneurysm or vocal cord paralysis
