Inclusion Criteria
? Los niños ingresados en la unidad de cuidados intensivos pediátricos de edades entre 1 mes y 15 años.
? Que requieran estar intubados durante más de 48 horas independientemente de la patología que presenten.
? Que sus padres y/o representantes legales acepten participar en el estudio.

Exclusion Criteria
?Los pacientes con patología previa de la vía aérea alta (malformaciones congénitas, cirugía, infección).
?Los pacientes que hayan recibido tratamiento con corticoides durante las 24 horas previas.
