研究概览

简要总结

Ethical clearance will be obtained from the Institutional ethical committee. CTRI approval will be taken before the commencement of the study. An informed consent will be taken by the parents of the children included in the study. Demographic data, associated risk factors, birthweight/gestation at birth, exposure to indoor/outdoor pollution, underlying co-morbidities, nutritional state will be collected according to the proforma designed for the study. PRESS score and pneumonia classification according to ARI control programme will be determined at the time of admission. Chest x-ray findings will be collected. If other imaging is done, details will be collected. The clinical profile of the child will be studied for associated risk factors and analyzed using appropriate statistical test.

入选标准

  • Children aged 1 month to 5 years admitted in the Department of Paediatrics with clinical diagnosis of pneumonia and suggestive chest x-ray findings.

排除标准

  • Children with diagnosis of bronchial asthma, aspiration pneumonia/ventilator associated pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis, pneumonia secondary to foreign body inhalation.
