- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method In the baseline study participants answer questions on emotions (PANAS, questions to emotion regulation) 6 times per day for one week. In both laboratory experiments event related potentials will be measured through EEG.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method In the baseline study and both laboratory studies heart rate will be measured through ECG. In the laboratory studies facial muscle activity will be measured through EMG. Further, participants will be videotaped while watching the filmclips and two raters will code their facial expressions using the facial expression coding system by Kring and Sloan. Furthermore, participants answer questions before and after watching each filmclip (Self-Assessment Manikin (SAM), post-film questionnaire, questions on emotion regulation). In the second laboratory study after the film-view, participants will also answer the question whether they managed to use the emotion regulation strategy they practiced before.
