Inclusion Criteria

1. Suspected patients having minimum of 3 criteria among the following (a-i)

a. Tiredness/Somnolence

b. Unexplained weight gain

c. DepressionMaterials and Methodology

Department of R & B 113

d. Cold intolerance

e. Hoarse voice

f. Goitre

g. A puffy face

h. Constipation

i. Dry skin

j. Muscle ache, Tenderness, Stiffness

k. Menstrual irregularity

i. Hair loss

2. Serum TSH >4mU/L

3. Patients were selected irrespective of gender, cast, religion and economic

status

4. Patients in between age group of 18-65 years

5. Patients with given written consent

Exclusion Criteria

1. Those who are under medication with drugs known to cause hypothyroidism

2. Critically ill patients due to any cause

3. Pregnant ladies

4.Lactating mothers of less than 6 months who are breast feeding.

5. Those who are under medication of hypothyroidism with any system of medicine
