Inclusion Criteria

  • dental students of JLU Gießen
  • = 20 natural teeth

Exclusion Criteria

  • - Braces, retainers (top)
  • - Oral piercing or tooth jewellery
  • - Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • - Cognitive and physical limitations when brushing teeth (e.g. due to arm injury)
  • - professional teeth cleaning or tooth polishing in the past 4 weeks
  • - Smoker (> 5 cig./day)
  • - No acute or chronic diseases affecting the oral cavity (e.g. diabetes, HIV, eating disorders, herpes)
  • - Not taking medication for epilepsy, heart disease or immunosuppression.
