Inclusion Criteria
All consecutive patients who were treated surgically with an arthrodesis of the proximal interphalangeal joint of a finger with tension band wire between January 2012 and December 2015.

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method The following data will be collected: number of months until follow-up; current occupation; dominant hand; complications occurred in the course and / or other operations (e.g., metal removal); limitations of the use of the hand in daily life / profession; DASH (Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand) score; satisfaction with the treatment outcome (0 = completely dissatisfied to 10 = completely satisfied) and pain at rest and with activity (0 = pain to 10 = severe pain) on a visual analogue scale; examination of the affected finger (scar, swelling, finger-palm distance); measurement of grip strength compared to the opposite side with a Jamar dynamometer; examination of the sensitivity of the fingertip by measuring the moving 2-Punktediskrimination compared with the same finger of the opposite side.<br><br>Data are collected at the course after an average of 31 months after the operation by questionnaire.
