Inclusion Criteria

1-Live singleton pregnancy at gestational age 37-41 weeks or more with medical or obstetrical indication for induction of labour

2-longitudnal lie with cephalic presentation

3-An unfavourable cervix

Exclusion Criteria

1-Rupture of membraness

2-Multiple gestation

3-Previous cesarian delivery

4-known contraindications to the use of drug

5-Grandmultiparity

6-Uterine anomalies

7-Placenta previa

8-cephalopelvic dispropotrion

9-Non-reassuring Fetal heart rate

10-Women in active labour on admission
