patients currently in inpatient or day clinic treatment at the study centre
presence of primary or comorbid agora phobia, social phobia or panic disorder
• acute suicidality
• primary psychotic disorder
• posttraumatic stress disorder
• other psychiatric condition that currently precludes treatment of the anxiety disorder
• severe somatic condition (if contraindication for exposure therapy)
• epilepsy or other CNS disorder
• in women: pregnancy
during the current course of treatment, the patient has already conducted therapist-instructed exposure exercises (with or without the presence of the therapist)
