- •Inclusion criteria
- •The inclusion criteria were as follows.
- •1.Being male or female patients aged 20-40
- •2.Presenting with constipation and meeting two or more of the following Rome III criteria for the last three months with symptom onset for at least six months prior to diagnosis:5,6,7
- ••Fewer than three defecations per week
- ••Straining during defecations
- ••Lumpy or hard stools
- ••A sensation of incomplete evacuation
- ••A sensation of anorectal obstruction
- ••Manual maneuvers required to facilitate defecations
- •3.Having granted written consent to the agreements of and participation in the research
排除标准
- •Exclusion criteria
- •The exclusion criteria were as follows.
- •1.Having chronic illnesses, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hepatopathy, renopathy, cancer, immunodeficiency, and neuropathy, including brain and spinal cord injury and Parkinson’s disease
- •2.Having chronic dermatitis with open wounds in the abdomen
- •3.Suffering from gastrointestinal obstruction caused by cancer, intestinal tumors, diverticulitis, intussusception, hernia, and other intestinal disorders
- •4.Having irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
- •5.Suffering from paralysis or paresis
- •6.Being pregnant
- •7.Having hemorrhoids
- •8.Suffering from aortic aneurysm
- •9.Having a history of intestinal operation with an incompletely healed wound
- •10.Having received massage therapy to relieve constipation within the last one month
- •11.Having taken laxatives within the last one month
- •12.Having consumed tea, coffee, or other types of caffeinated drinks every day within the last one month
