Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Primi gravida of 36 to 42 completed weeks of gestation, scheduled for elective caesarean section by Pfannenstiel incision
  • ASA I and II

Exclusion Criteria

  • Spinal anaesthesia related problems such as failure to achieve adequate spinal level, perception of pain intraoperatively requiring opioid supplementation.
  • Intraoperative surgical difficulties such as difficulty in closing peritoneum, excessive bleeding, uterine atony or operative injuries and placement of drain at wound site
  • Any case of stillbirth or newborns requiring ICU care.
  • History of allergy to local anaesthetics or NSAIDs.
  • Any ongoing infection or sepsis
  • Midline vertical skin incision
  • Patient refusing spinal anesthesia
