Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Primi gravida of 36 to 42 completed weeks of gestation, scheduled for elective caesarean section by Pfannenstiel incision
  • •ASA I and II

Exclusion Criteria

  • •Spinal anaesthesia related problems such as failure to achieve adequate spinal level, perception of pain intraoperatively requiring opioid supplementation.
  • •Intraoperative surgical difficulties such as difficulty in closing peritoneum, excessive bleeding, uterine atony or operative injuries and placement of drain at wound site
  • •Any case of stillbirth or newborns requiring ICU care.
  • •History of allergy to local anaesthetics or NSAIDs.
  • •Any ongoing infection or sepsis
  • •Midline vertical skin incision
  • •Patient refusing spinal anesthesia
