Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • ? Patients aged 19 years or older admitted to an intensive care unit
  • ? If a specialist diagnoses the acute respiratory failure
  • ? Patients who received invasive mechanical ventilation for more than 24 hours

Exclusion Criteria

  • ? Pregnant women
  • ? A condition in which respiratory muscle training is impossible due to neuropathy or congenital muscle disease
  • ? Brain death
  • ? Patients with severe traumatic brain injury
  • ? Patients with brain lesions (infarction and hemorrhage in the brain stem) that can affect breathing capacity
  • ? Patients with a history of epilepsy/seizures
  • ? Patients with intracranial metal implants (coils, clips, etc.)
  • ? Patients with implanted cardiac pacemakers
  • ? Patients who did not consent to this study
  • ? If a neurologist or psychiatrist has diagnosed cognitive dysfunction
