Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Adult women and men (\=18 y)
  • •Informed consent as documented by signature
  • •Systemically healthy subjects
  • •At least one dental implant loaded by fixed single crowns or bridges (screwed or cemented) with mucositis in terms of a probing pocket depth between 3 an 5 and bleeding on probing
  • •Bone loss \= 2mm as detectable on X\-ray
  • •Ability to read and understand the patient information

Exclusion Criteria

  • •Patients with active periodontal pockets
  • •Pregnant or nursing women or women planning to have a child
  • •Patients with antibiotic therapy within the previous 6 months
  • •Patients with peri\-implantitis therapy within the previous 3 months
  • •Subjects with an allergy to CHX
  • •Heavy smokers (\=10 cigarettes per day)
  • •Anti\-coagulated patients (exception: \=100 mg/d acetylsalicylic acid)
  • •Removable prostheses attached on the affected implants
