Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Adult women and men (\=18 y)
  • Informed consent as documented by signature
  • Systemically healthy subjects
  • At least one dental implant loaded by fixed single crowns or bridges (screwed or cemented) with mucositis in terms of a probing pocket depth between 3 an 5 and bleeding on probing
  • Bone loss \= 2mm as detectable on X\-ray
  • Ability to read and understand the patient information

Exclusion Criteria

  • Patients with active periodontal pockets
  • Pregnant or nursing women or women planning to have a child
  • Patients with antibiotic therapy within the previous 6 months
  • Patients with peri\-implantitis therapy within the previous 3 months
  • Subjects with an allergy to CHX
  • Heavy smokers (\=10 cigarettes per day)
  • Anti\-coagulated patients (exception: \=100 mg/d acetylsalicylic acid)
  • Removable prostheses attached on the affected implants
