All patients, both male and female, aged 20 to 80 years, undergoing emergency laparotomy for intestinal perforation under general anesthesia
1.Presence of diagnosis of cystic fibrosis, congestive heart failure, respiratory failure, renal failure, cirrhosis and cancer.
2.An immunocompromising condition will be defined as one of the following:
1.Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection
2.Neutropenia ( <500 neutrophils/mm3)
3.Active chemotherapy within the 3 months preceding eligibility or immunosuppressive therapy after organ transplantation.
