All consecutive children aged 1month to 60 months admitted to PICU with ââ?¬Å?severe pneumonia requiring oxygen therapyââ?¬? would be enrolled in this study after getting informed consent from parents.
1.Children diagnosed to have chronic lung disease
2.Any child hospitalized for respiratory illness in last one month period
3.Children previously diagnosed to have bronchial asthma
4.Children receiving home mechanical ventilation
5.Children diagnosed to have preexisting neuromuscular disease
6.Children diagnosed to have pre existing adrenal insufficiency
7.Children diagnosed to have empyema at admission to emergency room
8.Children diagnosed to have pre existing immunocompromised conditions
9.Children diagnosed to have Tuberculosis before admission
