Inclusion Criteria

1.ASA 1 and 2 patients

2.posted for elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy under general Anaesthesia.

Exclusion Criteria

1.Patients with uncontrolled hypertension Diabetes mellitus

2.Any known significant renal/ cardiac disease, Gastro esophageal disease

3. BMI>=30 Kg/m2

4. Moderate to severe respiratory disease

5.Pregnancy

6. Patients with documented delayed gastric

emptying or slow gastrointestinal motility.

1.To compare the incidence of hypotension following induction of an <br/ ><br>anaesthesia between the patients receiving oral carbohydrate drinks and <br/ ><br>conventional preoperative fasting in laparoscopic cholecystectomy <br/ ><br>patients2.To compare the Pleth variability index(PVI) and Perfusion index(PI) at <br/ ><br>baseline and following induction in between the above mentioned two <br/ ><br>groups.Timepoint: 1 hour
