This experimental study investigates and compares the immediate effects of Kinesio Tape and Dynamic Tape on three key performance parameters—dynamic balance, agility, and power—in recreational badminton players. The research focuses on anterior thigh taping, targeting the quadriceps muscle group, to explore how different elastic taping methods influence short-term functional outcomes.
For the Kinesio Tape application, participants’ anterior thigh skin was cleaned to ensure optimal adhesion. A strip measuring approximately 20–25 cm (adjusted to individual thigh length) was cut. The base of the tape was anchored just above the patella without stretch, and the tape was applied upward along the rectus femoris muscle in the center of the thigh with 25–50% stretch, ensuring smooth contact without wrinkles. The ends were secured without tension to maintain comfort and effectiveness.
For the Dynamic Tape application, the skin was similarly cleaned, and the tape length was measured according to each participant’s thigh length and required support. One end of the tape was anchored below the patella with minimal stretch, then applied upward along the quadriceps following the natural muscle contour with 50–75% stretch. The application ended near the mid-thigh without stretch to ensure firm adhesion, correct alignment, and functional support.
Both taping methods were applied by following standardized, reproducible protocols to minimize variability. Immediately after taping, participants underwent a series of functional performance tests specifically designed to assess dynamic balance, agility, and power. The results from both taping techniques were recorded and analyzed to determine any significant differences in immediate performance enhancement between Kinesio Tape and Dynamic Tape. This comparison aims to provide evidence-based guidance for athletes, coaches, and sports rehabilitation professionals regarding the most effective taping method for short-term functional improvement in badminton and similar sports.

- •BMI should be greater than 18.5 and below 24.9 kg/m2 Subject should not have any lower limb musculoskeletal injuries in past six months as explained by the subject.
- •Subjects should not have any cardiorespiratory problems in past six months as per explanation by the subject.
- •Subject should not have any lower limb neurological injuries in past six months as per explanation by the subject.
- •Subject must be willing to participate in the study and willing to sign informed consent for participation.
- •Subject must have at least six months of prior experience in playing badminton.

- •Subject with systemic disease (e.g., neurological or rheumatologic disorders) Subject with serious spinal conditions, such as tumor, infection, or fracture.
- •Subject with any bleeding disorders.
- •Subject with pacemakers.
- •Subject with psychiatric disorder.
- •Subject with ongoing treatment for inner ear, sinus, or upper respiratory infection.
- •Subject in between game season.
- •Subject on medication which hampers balance and agility.
