Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1\.Patients who give valid informed consent
- •2\.Patients belonging to ASA grade I and II
- •3\.Patients of either sex, between the age group 18 to 80 years
- •4\.Patients undergoing elective surgeries under General anaesthesia with endotracheal tube placement.
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\.History of prior difficult bag and mask ventilation or difficult intubation
- •2\.Anticipated difficult airway or difficult intubation during pre anaesthetic examination with Mallampati grades III and above
- •3\.History of prior oroâ??nasal or neck injuries, burns or scars
- •4\.Active oral, pharyngeal or tracheal infection or inflammatory changes.
- •5\.Lung parenchymal and pleural diseases, Examples: Asthma, COPD, Bronchiestasis, Reactive lung diseases, Pneumonia, Tuberculosis,
- •Pleural effusion, Pneumothorax lung or Pleural malignancy
- •6\.Full stomach or patients at risk of aspiration, e.g. Pregnancy
- •7\.Patients with known oesophageal pathology, e.g. Oesophageal stricture, Carcinoma, Tracheoesophaeal fistula
