a) Isolated Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear
b) Patient symptomatic by instability i.e. having at least
one episode giving way of the involved knee
c) Mature patient with 16-45 year of age
d) Undergoing ACL reconstruction using Bone Patellar Tendon Bone autograft or
Hamstring tendon autograft.
e) Consenting to participate in the study
a) Patients who refuse to participate in the study
b) Associated meniscal injury requiring more than
one-third resection or repair
c) Any degree of extension lag
d) Associated more than grade 2 PCL, LCL or MCL
injury
e) Associated osteoarthritis of the injured knee
f) Associated pathology of contralateral hip, knee or
ankle that would affect gait
g) Any associated pathology of ipsilateral hip or
ankle that would affect gait
h) Any pre-injury pathology of the concerned knee

Name Time Method Gait analysis parameters : <br/ ><br>a) Walking velocity (m/s) <br/ ><br>b) Peak knee flexion angle, degrees <br/ ><br>c) Peak knee flexion moment, Nm/kg.m <br/ ><br>d) Peak knee adduction angle, degrees <br/ ><br>e) Peak knee adduction moment, Nm/kg.m <br/ ><br>f) EMG activity of the quadriceps and the hamstrings <br/ ><br>g) Hip extension moment, Nm/kg.m <br/ ><br>Timepoint: The Gait analysis parameters will be assessed prior to surgical reconstruction of ACL, and at 3 and 9 months post-operatively
