Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1. Lactating mothers who are willing to exclusively breast feed throughout the study period
  • 2. Lactating mothers with infants less than 1 month old
  • 3. Mothers who have consented and are willing to participate in all aspects of the study.
  • 4. Infants with normal birth weight more than or equal to 2.5kg

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1. Mothers taking medications that affect vitamin D metabolism ( steroid, anticonvulsants)
  • 2.Mothers who are not exclusively breastfeeding
  • 3.Mothers who are nursing multiple infants
  • 4. Mothers giving birth to preterm < 36+6 weeks baby
  • 5.Infants on Vitamin D supplementations
