1.Individual with age ranging from 30-70 years
2.Subjects with minimum 15 teeth or more
3.Generalized chronic periodontitis patients exhibiting
Pocket depth >4mm and CAL of >3mm in more than 30% diseased sites,(According to the AAP classification 2017 stage III grade B in group I and stage III grade C in group II)
GROUP SPECIFIC INCLUSION CRITERIA
GROUP I: Individuals without systemic diseases and chronic periodontitis
GROUP II: Generalized chronic periodontitis patients exhibiting
Pocket depth >4mm and CAL of >3mm in more than 30% diseased sites
According to American Diabetic Association(ADA) classification of glycaemic control-
GROUP III: Generalized chronic periodontitis patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus exhibiting good control
GROUP IV: Generalized chronic periodontitis patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus exhibiting poor control
1.Patients with systemic condition influencing the course of periodontal disease other than diabetes
2.Patients with haemoglobinopathies, bleeding and clotting disorders that will influence HbA1c level.
3.History of periodontal treatment within the previous six months
4.Antimicrobial therapy, immunosuppressant or lipid lowering drugs within the past 3 months
5. Smokers and alcoholics
6.Pregnancy and lactation
